Doctoral Program in Electrical Engineering General Academic Program Requirements: The PhD program in Electrical Engineering meets the need of each student through an individualized learning program. The program requires a minimum of eight courses beyond the Master’s, which include no more than two independent study courses. To meet the Residency Requirement, students must complete a minimum of 24 credits at Binghamton University. The two 600-level courses required for the 10-course option of the MSEE degree are counted as two of the eight courses required for the PhD.
